DIY: How to Drive Your Face into the Sand

Scooters can be a fun alternative form of transportation and recreation, especially during summer vacations. However, as with any other motorized bike or any type of vehicle for that matter, you really need to keep your head up – literally.

Despite the comical end of this young man’s attempt to fool around with a scooter, we reckon that using his face to dig a hole in the sand sounds much better than the alternative ending had he managed to ramp his way over the lump of sand… Follow the break for the video.

Missing Link Tries to Climb Tree with Honda Chopper [Video]

Take a good look at the picture posted above. Now raise your hand if you know what’s going to happen next. If the first thing that popped into your head was that the tree is going to fall down, well, let's just say that you may want to see if this cultural motorcycle club is accepting new members.

If your thoughts involved a flying chopper inflicting a lot of pain to the biker, give yourself a pat on the back and head over the jump for a few good laughs.

Dancing with the Bikes: The Most Twisted Video You’ll See Today

What you’re about to see in the following video is one of the weirdest motorcycle accidents ever with an unexpected -yet admittedly, highly enjoyable-twist.

It features two racing motorcycles and their respective drivers during a round of the promosport Championship at the Magny Cours track in France. The incident began when the first motorcyclist slips before a turn sending his bike sliding on the tarmac, and eventually hit a rider in front knocking him down from his bike.

Up until this point, there is nothing out of the ordinary about the incident. But as the two bikers get up and try to lift their motorcycles, it happens… See for yourself in the video after the jump.

Honda Offers Schumacher a ride in World Superbike Championship!

Honda has offered seven-time Formula 1 Champion Michael Schumacher a ride in the 2009 World Superbike Championship according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Michael is convinced that the German championship is ideal for him at the moment," Honda Racing's Carlo Fiorani told the Italian newspaper. "Up until now, he has not asked us to race in the 2009 World Superbike Championship. But if he wants to, there's a motorcycle waiting for him. All he has to do is ask us," stated Carlo Fiorani.

The 39-year old retired F1 champion has already taken part in Germany's leading bike racing series, the IDM Superbike championship as well as making a number of appearances in other two-wheel races so don't be surprised if you see him next year riding one of Honda's superbikes in the world championship.

Yamaha FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse Concept Bike with 150HP R1 Engine

Yamaha FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse Concept Bike We don't usually post articles on motorcycles but this time we are obliged to make an exception. The 'naked' Yamaha concept bike you see in the picture above was developed in cooperation with Fiat's sport division, Abarth as part of the celebrations to mark the 100th birthday of the Italian firm's founder Karl Abarth (born on November 15. 1908). Yamaha FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse Concept Bike The FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corso is distinguished by the classic Abarth livery which combines Abarth's Scorpion and Yamaha's three tuning-fork logo. Mechanical improvements on the concept bike include a new Akrapovic exhaust as well as suspension and brake upgrades.

Along with the FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corso, Fiat's sport division marked Karl Abarth's centenary with the release of a limited edition version of the 500 Abarth (click here for details and photos) and a snazzy high performance desktop powered by the new Intel Core i7 Extreme processor (click here to check it out).

Germans Invent World’s First 4WD Pedal Powered Kart

Forget about mountain bikes; the newest trend in off-roading is called Trailcart and according to its creators, it’s the world’s first pedal-powered four wheel drive off-road vehicle. The Trailcart was conceived by Frank Fraune from Germany who caught the attention of the folks at AS Group when it was featured in a local newspaper.

Now AS Group is testing Trailcart prototypes and it shouldn’t be long before the first production karts hit the (off) road. Mind you, one of the first clients to get the Trailcart will be Land Rover that’ll use the 4WD pedal kart at the Land Rover Adventure Tour 2008 in Malaysia. -Continued

We don’t have all the technical details in our hands yet, but Treehugger notes that the Trailcart is built from high-end sportsbikes parts, including the Shimano Nexus 8 shifting system along with a double-action mechanical hydraulic braking system. In terms of weight, AS Group is targeting to keep it under 50 kg / 100 lbs which is the typical limit for bicycle racks on cars.

Even though we’re pretty sure that you’d probably be better off with a mountain bike –unless you’re going downhill or you have the stamina and strength of an Olympian athlete that is, the Trailcart does look like it could offer plenty of fun. Come to think of it, the way gas prices are going, if AS Group adds a couple of cup holders, we could actually see ourselves using it for our daily chores during those snowy winters here in MA.

Schumacher Assists Motorcycle Helmet Company

Seven-time Formula-1 champion Michael Schumacher will be lending a helping hand, or in this case… head to German motorcycle helmet company, Schuberth. Starting with the ‘Schuberth Race’ helmet, the German firm’s engineers have developed this new crash helmet in close collaboration with Michael himself.

‘Throughout my time in Formula 1 I really appreciated just how fast and accurately the people at Schuberth were able to work. Attention to detail has always been particularly important to me, and I don’t intend to leave anything to chance in the future either,” said Michael Schumacher. -Continued

For those of you that might be interested in the specific helmet, unfortunately you’ll have to wait a bit as no further information on the price or availability of the ‘Schuberth Race’ helmet is available at this time.

VW’s Retro Bonanza Bike: It's the '70's all over again

If you’re the kind of nostalgic type who never quite managed to get over the “nein” that you received from your dad back in 1976 when you asked him for that three speed, banana-seat bicycle, then here’s your chance to relive your childhood fantasy. VW’s retro Bonanza Bike is a cult bicycle that is an exact replica of the famous 1976 model.

Just like the original, the Bonanza features a detailed 3-speed gear lever console replica, hub gears and back-pedal brake, chromed-steel high-riser bars with bell and mirrors, chromed steel rims, Kenda tyres, black with a white reflecting stripe, front drum brakes and last but not least, the characteristic black banana seat with red rally stripes. Citroen C2 1587 Brutale: Special Edition Inspired from MV Augusta

We don’t know about you, but the last thing that comes to our mind when we think of the Citroen C2 VTS is an exotic, naked Italian motorcycle like the MV Augusta Brutale 1078 RR. Apparently Citroen and MV Augusta disagree so that’s why the teamed up to create a special version of the top-end C2 VTS inspired from the Brutale. Based on the C2 VTS that’s equipped with a 125 Hp 1.6-liter engine, the C2 1587 Brutale was shown at the “My Special Car Show” in Rimini, Italy.

The special edition C2 features the same pearl white and black colour scheme as the Brutale 1078 RR. Likewise, the C2’s motorcycle-inspired interior is equipped with perforated alcantara seats with a Brutale logo, black leather detail trim with red stitching, steering wheel in black alcantara with red stitching and carbon-fibre trim on the dashboard and the foot plate. This guy must certainly have a death wish. We can think of at least 20 things that could go wrong with this stupid stunt that was performed on a public road. Skull Helmet: Way Too Cool, Way Too Useless

Unless you’re driving a bicycle (or even worse, a Segway...), the Skull Helmet from Santiago Chopper is guaranteed to give by-passers the chills when you’re strolling along the road with your big, bad ass bike. However, you'd better be extra careful cause as cool as it looks, the Skull Helmet doesn’t promise to offer a lot of protection to your jaw in case of an accident. But it's your choice. The Skull Helmet is priced at $149 (or 104 EUR).

Subaru’s First Motorcycle?

This story has been circulating around several motorcycle-related blog and websites, and although it hasn’t been confirmed by Subaru, we’d found it interesting enough to share it with you. Word has it that the prototype you’re seeing in the image is powered by a 50 HP strong, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine, originally developed from Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru’s parent company) to be used in quad bikes. The motorbike’s aluminium chassis is built in China to keep costs down. -Continued after the jump

Subaru WRX STI Powered ATV! [Updated with Video]

A quad-bike with a turbocharged Subaru Impreza WRX STi engine? We’ve seen some crazy stuff here at rezza foournito but this is totally nuts and we want one ASAP! The custom-made ATV (All-Terrain-Vehicle) was built by Ken Brough, a New-Zealander who describes himself as “a 50-year-old with petrol in my veins”.

The insane quad-bike, which Ken calls the STi ATV, is powered by with a 1990's Subaru Impreza WRX STi engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox with a clutch assembly from a 1.8-liter Leone. We don’t have any acceleration or horsepower figures but Ken supports that the STi ATV weighs a mere 530 kg (1,168 pounds) so performance is definitely not a problem.
