Just Say No: Lamborghini Gallardo “Galaxy Warrior”

Would You or Wouldn’t You: Fiero-Based Lamborghini Diablo Replica with BMW V12 Power

If a Fiero-based Ferrari replica is a “Fierrari”, then I figure its Lamborghini equivalent must be a “Lambieroghini”. Here’s one such monstrosity for sale on eBay, though on closer inspection there’s a lot to like about it.

For one, though it’s incomplete, much of the grunt work has already been done. The unpainted fibreglass body that replicates the Diablo VT 6.0's styling has been mated to the tubular steel frame and the gas door struts, power window motors and headlights have all been installed.

Also, the brake rotors are from a Corvette and the wheels are genuine 2004 Lamborghini Murciélago 18-inch stock clad in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

Plastic is Fantastic: 1:24 Scale Supercar Exotics Encased In Resin

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a 1970's style resin “sculpture” made by an unknown French artist and featuring various 1:24 scale Ferraris.

There’s also a Lamborghini Diablo, Jaguar XJ220 and Bugatti EB110 in there among others. Props to anyone who can help us identify the rest. The unusual item is being sold by Mantiques Modern [sic] of New York.

For details on price, you’ll have to contact the dealer, but something tells us it won’t be cheap… More photos of the artsy piece in the gallery after the break.

Go-Fast Porsche Cayman Driver Smacks Ferrari 360 at Supercar Gathering in Malaysia

A couple of mishaps involving private supercars marked this past weekend’s 2011 SuperGT race at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The first incident occurred on the tarmac during a parade of sports and super cars when an overly enthusiastic but sloppy driver of a winged Porsche Cayman rear-ended a Ferrari 360 as it slowed down in front of the crowd. The red Ferrari then bumped into a silver Ferrari California that was in front of it. You’ll have to jump 52 seconds into the first video to see the very expensive fender benders.

The second mishap took place outside the track as the supercars were leaving. It involved a kitted-out Lamborghini Murcielago and a BMW M5. An eyewitness told Jalopnik that he saw the Murcielago and an BMW M5 chasing each other before the crash. You can see what happened to the Lambo in the video after the break.

Original 1965 Lamborghini Miura Turin Salon Chassis Found by Collectors

A one-off 1965 Turin Salon Lamborghini Miura chassis equipped with the Italian company's first-ever transverse mid-mounted V12 engine (0293) has resurfaced thanks to the discovery of a group of unnamed, Los Angeles based, collectors. The historic chassis that was designed by Gian Paolo Dallara, represents the very first mid-engined supercar theme for all marques. The show chassis had been stored for the past 30 years in Cyprus by the country's original Lamborghini concessionaire, Marios Kritikos, who had acquired the historic unit in April 1978.

The original invoice for the chassis survives together with unpublished period photographs of the chassis being built in 1965, on display at the December, 1965 Turin Salon, and at the Lamborghini factory in July, 1966. Mr. Kritikos documented his collection of the car on April 7th, 1978.

A month after its discovery and sale to the LA collectors, the one-off chassis has been imported to the US and now resides in the restoration facility of Miura specialist Gary Bobileff, where it will undergo a complete refurbishment to bring it to its former show glory. According to Lamborghini, the chassis will make its USA debut in the summer of 2009.

Sportscar Office Chairs Made from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche and Corvette Seats!

Usually, it takes a while before we decide whether or not we like a product, but not this time. One glimpse was more than enough to make us drool over these awesome office chairs that are made from authentic sportscars seats. The company that builds them, RaceChairs, uses refurbished seats from various automakers including Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsche and even Corvette. But as with anything else in this world that captivates our imagination, the exotic office chairs come with a price. And we mean this in a literal sense as depending on the condition of the original seat, a Ferrari 360 office chair can cost you around $6,000 and a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 chair up to $11,000.

Lamborghini Delivers Last Reventon No20 to UK Customer

The last example of Lamborghini's one million euro (plus taxes) Reventon supercar, has been delivered to a British customer at the firm's official Midlands dealership in Birmingham. The Italian firm built a total of 20 cars all of which had been sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007. The particular Reventon is the only one destined for the UK. The buyer, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Lamborghini officials that he intends to drive his 650HP+ V12 supercar rather than simply garaging it - and who can blame him...

"Our client was understandably delighted," said Lamborghini Birmingham sales manager Dominic Mulvey, who accompanied the fortunate Brit to Lamborghini's Sant'Agata-based factory near Bologna. "Lamborghini's President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, personally presented the Reventón to its new owner who then drove off in his new car."

Lamborghini Print Ads: “Feels Italian Wherever You Are”

The same German advertising agency that created the wonderful Lamborghini print campaign with the subject heading “Welcome to Sant’ Agata Bolognese, Home of Lamborghini" (click here) has struck again. This time, “Philipp und Keuntje” attempt to show us how one experiences the world behind the wheel of a Lambo showing stereotypical national scenes in a pretty Italian way.

In our opinion, the “Feels Italian Wherever You Are” print campaign isn’t as successful as the company’s prior work as we find it more fit for a Fiat or an Alfa Romeo advert than one for Lamborghini. -Continued

Lamborghini Bosses Want Less Audi in their Cars

Having received hefty criticism about the fact that the Gallardo supercar shares one too many parts with the much cheaper Audi R8, Lamborghini execs are determined to lower the use of common parts to no more than 20% between the two marques in the next generation models.

“We have an internal rule that in future common parts will never exceed 20 per cent. In the future, we will always work together just on the hidden parts — parts that will not touch the DNA of Lamborghini. That could include things like the electrical platforms that need high investment, or hoses and filters, but we have to safeguard against too much of it,” said Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephen Winkelmann.
