Source URL: http://sparesomeribs.blogspot.com/search/label/Mitsubishi%20Lancer%20EVOIn what promises to be the fastest (and most expensive) EVO yet, the Lancer EVO X FQ-400 will pack a souped-up version of the standard car's 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a new ECU and exhaust system to produce around 405HP and 400lb-ft of torque. That should be good enough to propel the EVO from standstill to 60mph (96 km/h) in around 3,5 - 3,7 sec. Comparatively, the 354HP EVO X FQ360 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4,1 sec.
As with the FQ-360 version, Mitsubishi UK will offer the FQ-400 exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox as the company is still reluctant to match the engine's 400 lb-ft of torque with the quick and efficient dual-clutch SST (Sports Shift Transmission).
Along with the engine upgrades, the FQ400 will also benefit from a new body kit with additional cooling intakes and vents, 18-inch alloy wheels and larger brakes with six-pot calipers at the front.
Mitsubishi has yet to (officially) release details, but according to Autocar magazine, the Japanese firm indicated that the car will cost somewhere north of £45,000 with only 100 units planned to be produced.

With the HKS engine pack that includes an uprated turbo, a new intake manifold, and a modified engine control unit, the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine’s output rises from 286 PS at 7.020 rpm to 383.2 PS at 6.230 rpm while torque goes from stock 44.9 kgm at 4.040 rpm to 48.9 kgm at 4.360 rpm.
Other mods include a chassis upgrade kit with new suspension parts and a lower ride height combined with 19-inch Advan Racing RZ alloy wheels wrapped in 265/30R19 Advan tires. As for the styling package, it consists of an aerodynamic bodykit along with carbon fiber mirror caps, hood scoop, side protectors and front apron. –More pics after the jump

2009 Lancer Ralliart
The Lancer Ralliart model is the latest addition to the sporty Lancer compact car family. This new model reinforces the sporty identity of the Lancer lineup (Lancer, Lancer Ralliart and Lancer Evolution) with aggressive styling and driving performance to be well positioned between the Lancer and the Lancer Evolution models.
Lancer Ralliart is powered by a new 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine that develops an estimated 240 horsepower. The engine is mated to Mitsubishi's Twin Clutch-SST gearbox that delivers highly-efficient power transmission while enhancing the sporty driving qualities of the vehicle with lightning-quick, silky-smooth, paddle-actuated shifts or programmed fully-auto modes. The Lancer Ralliart's full-time 4WD driveline features Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD). The ACD unit employs an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch center differential, vectoring drive torque to the front and rear according to different driving conditions to realize the best balance between steering response and traction characteristics on Tarmac, Gravel, or Snow surfaces. Lancer Ralliart is also equipped with a front helical and rear mechanical limited slip differentials.
The Lancer Ralliart exterior is distinguished by its more aggressively styled front bumper design, rear bumper cover, dual outlet muffler and a lightweight aluminum, ducted hood that delivers cooling air to the turbocharger. The interior design places greater emphasis on function and vehicle control. Lancer Ralliart is equipped with FAST key, hands free telephone interface, the same Twin Clutch-SST shifter used on Lancer Evolution, and easily accessible steering column mounted paddle shifters.
Available equipment and options to include: Recaro seats, HID headlights, 650 watt Rockford Fosgate 9-speaker audio system, Sirius satellite radio, power sunroof, and a

In Europe and unless Mitsubishi decides else wise in terms of pricing, the Lancer Ralliart will compete against the Subaru Impreza WRX, VW Golf GTI, Opel Astra OPC, Honda Civic Type-R, Renault Megane RS etc.
According to Mitsubishi’s European arm, the Lancer Ralliart will feature among other things, an aluminium bonnet panel, Recaro front seats, sports steering wheel with paddle shift and a Ralliart radiator grille.
Here’s what Motortrends senior editor Ed Loh had to say about it after testing both cars: “The clarity and rawness of the IX has been smoothed over in the X, with no replacement in terms of excitement. Though the X may be more proper and polished when it speaks to you, the IX tells better stories.” Check out the full story by clicking the link below.

Mitsubishi Unveils All-New Lancer Evolution At The
Noted as the pinnacle of Mitsubishi's rally-inspired technology and engineering, Mitsubishi introduces the 2008 Lancer Evolution, the newest and most sophisticated version of the legendary high-performance model series that began in
The strikingly styled 2008 Lancer Evolution showcases new performance and handling technology, including an all-new 291-hp (est.) 2.0-liter turbocharged/intercooled engine and the Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) dynamic handling system. S-AWC offers an extraordinary level of control at each wheel, going well beyond the capabilities of other all-wheel drive systems.
The Lancer Evolution's S-AWC system regulates drive torque at each wheel by controlling a network of dynamic handling technologies, including: Active Center Differential (ACD) 4-wheel drive, Active Yaw Control (AYC) rear differential, Active Stability Control (ASC), and Sport ABS brakes. Integration of ASC is new for all markets. Exclusive to the Los Angeles Auto Show will be an interactive display for event attendees to experience the razor sharp handling of the Lancer Evolution's S-AWC dynamic handling system designed to emulate driving on tough terrains like a winding mountain roads.
