Honda CR-Z Mugen: All you Need to Know about Honda’s Hottest Hybrid Yet

We’ve already shared initial information and a video on the Mugen-fettled CR-Z that Honda is about to launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, but today, the Japanese carmaker came out with all the juicy details, as well as more photos of the sporty hybrid concept.
According to company’s European division, the CR-Z Mugen sets out to prove that hybrid cars can be exciting to drive, with the one-off special producing “Civic Type R-like performance” while also remaining true to the original, eco-friendly character of the run-of-the-mill CR-Z.

Video: F1 Pilot Jenson Button Laps the Nurburgring in a Honda Civic Type-R

Honda has released an official video with its F1 pilot Jenson Button lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife for the first time in his life with a 200 Hp Civic Type R. Video: 2009 Euro Honda Accord – Acura TSX

Revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, the European spec 2009 Honda Accord (see pictures and details here) will come to the States as the ‘09 Acura TSX Sedan. In Europe, the ‘09 Accord will also be offered as a station wagon (Tourer). Buyers will be able to choose among an all-new 150 Hp 2.2 liter i-DTEC diesel along with the revised 156 Hp 2.0 and 200 Hp 2.4 litre petrol engines. –Video after the jump

Video: 2009 Honda Euro Accord & Acura TSX Teaser Film

Along with a set of teaser images that we showed you earlier today (click here), Honda also released a video of the European spec 2009 Accord that will make its debut this March at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. As we told you in our previous post, the Euro Accord previews the 2009 Acura TSX that’s expected in the States sometime this year. However, while Europeans will be able to choose between a Sedan and Station-Wagon (Tourer) variant of the new Accord, only the four-door version will head over to this side of the Atlantic. -Video right after the jump

Video: 2009 Honda Pilot Concept

The pre-production Pilot that made its debut at the Detroit Show (click HERE for images) is virtually a teaser model for Honda’s second generation large SUV that will be introduced in the States this spring. Californian Judge Orders Illegally Modified Honda Civic To Be Crushed

Californian authorities destroyed a supped up 1995 Honda Civic that belonged to 18-year-old Lakewood resident, Clifford Sung, a few weeks after the latter was arrested in Long Beach for having a vehicle with an illegal engine. This is the first time in Long Beach's history that an illegally modified car has been crushed.
Sung was stopped on Oct. 15, 2007 after Long Beach officers noticed his Honda's illegally modified exhaust system. Long Beach officer Brian Nystedt stated that police saw other signs of illegal street racing, including a fiberglass hood and a sway bar on the back of the car that led to an inspection under the hood revealing that the VIN had been chipped off the transmission. -Continued (Video of the crush after the jump)
City Prosecutor, Tom Reeves, justified the destruction of the car by saying that a high number of deaths in and around Long Beach in the past few years attributed to street racing have made the city aggressively pursue racers who break the law.
Ironically, while Sung -who had no prior convictions- managed get away with a misdemeanour charge (he was sentenced to probation and the judge ordered his car to be destroyed), the 18-year-old Lakewood resident was arrested again one week after he settled his case in court. However, this time, things aren’t going to be as easy for Sung as he was charged for felony auto theft that occurred on Nov. 8. As the saying goes, a wise man never makes the same mistake twice…

In our opinion, the Honda CR-Z concept (click here) was one of the most important cars that made their debut at the 2007 Tokyo Show last month. The reason is that, not only is the CR-Z Coupe heading for production, but it will also be equipped with a hybrid powertrain. You may not completely agree with Honda’s styling choices, but to us, a mainstream compact coupe with a hybrid powertrain sounds like a recipe made for success.

It’s about time we saw some… serious tuning today. Citroen Saxo VTS: with a…220Hp Civic Type-R engine!

While this video isn’t as near as enjoying as the BMW 3-Series Coupe with a Honda S2000 engine video we showed last week, you’ve got to admit that the idea of putting an upgraded Civic Type-R motor to the rear end of a 900kg (1.985 pounds) Citroen Saxo is indulging.
