Would You or Wouldn’t You: Fiero-Based Lamborghini Diablo Replica with BMW V12 Power

If a Fiero-based Ferrari replica is a “Fierrari”, then I figure its Lamborghini equivalent must be a “Lambieroghini”. Here’s one such monstrosity for sale on eBay, though on closer inspection there’s a lot to like about it.

For one, though it’s incomplete, much of the grunt work has already been done. The unpainted fibreglass body that replicates the Diablo VT 6.0's styling has been mated to the tubular steel frame and the gas door struts, power window motors and headlights have all been installed.

Also, the brake rotors are from a Corvette and the wheels are genuine 2004 Lamborghini Murciélago 18-inch stock clad in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

SCOOP: Early Prototype of 2013 BMW 7-Series Facelift

With the fifth-generation of the BMW 7-Series limousine codenamed F01 entering its third year in production, it’s time for the Bavarian company to begin readying a mid-life facelift for its flagship model.

Our spies snagged a lightly camouflaged prototype of the 7-Series bearing the ActiveHybrid 7 badges while testing in Germany. Judging by the parts of the car hidden under masking tape, there should be some minor styling changes to the front and rear bumpers as well as to the headlamps and tail light graphics.

2009 BMW Alpina B7 Teaser Sketch

A teaser sketch of Alpina's forthcoming B7 model based on the latest generation BMW 7-Series sedan, has appeared on the net. There's no information whatsoever on the car, but the drawing reveals that the new B7 will feature a subtle bodykit that includes Alpina's characteristic front lip spoiler, rocker panels and a discreet rear spoiler complemented by the German firm's multispoke alloy wheels.

If the previous B7 model with its supercharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produced 500HP and 516 pound-feet of torque for a 4.8-second sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) is anything to go by, then Alpina's take on the new 7-Series should be an exciting toy for those that feel the need to stand out from the crowd.

Hamann Releases New Alloys for 2009 BMW 7-Series and Maserati Granturismo

The crew over at Hamann Motorsports has developed a new series of aluminum wheel designs for the 2009 BMW 7-Series sedan and the sinfully beautiful, Maserati Granturismo. In particular, Hamman introduced two different alloy wheel designs for the Bimmer and one set of 21-inch alloys for Italian coupe, all of which are available exclusively in a black finish. Hamann has yet to release further details but expect to see the German tuner providing an array of styling and mechanical upgrades for both vehicles in the very near future.

Nissan Maxima Modded Into a BMW 7-Series!

Nissan Maxima Transformed into BMW 7-SeriesAs much as we would like to believe that we always know why people do the things they do, fact is that sometimes we don't have even the slightest idea. Take this monstrously modified Nissan Maxima for example. It's as if the owner of the Kuwaiti licensed plate vehicle went into an automotive supermarket randomly picking out accessories and parts for the mix. Here's a shortlist of his "groceries": BMW 7-Series fascia, BMW M3-like front bumper, Lamborghini style front scissor doors, two-part hood, gullwing rear doors and a Supra-like rear wing are just a few of the countless items that he added to the poor Maxima. What can we say...

2009 BMW 7-Series Scooped With Minor Camouflage

In what seems to be the best spy picture we’ve seen up to date, Car Magazine’s photographers have captured the forthcoming BMW 7-Series with minor camouflage thus giving us a preview of what the Bavarian’s have in store for us this summer when they release the first details and pictures of their new top-of-the-range luxury sedan prior to its Paris Motor Show debut.

Despite the camo, it is evident that BMW’s design team went for a more elegant and slightly sport styling with the new 7, avoiding the current generation’s chunky and limousine-esque looks that caused heaps of criticism when it came out in 2001. Better styling aside, the 2009 7-Series is also expected to go through an extensive diet and along with the new engine line-up that will include BMW’s 306Hp 3.0-liter Turbocharged straight-six and the 408Hp 4.4-liter V8 Turbo, it will also feature significantly improved fuel consumption figures. See more spy pictures of the new 7-Series by clicking the link below.

2009 BMW 7-Series F01 Bumper for Sale on eBay?

We have no way of knowing for sure whether the bumper you’re looking at the picture above is actually from the next-generation BMW 7-Series (codenamed F01) as the seller on the German eBay supports, but let us tell you one thing; if the seller’s claims are true and this is indeed a front bumper from a pre-production 7-Series, we know more than a few guys down at Munich who are going to get pretty aggravated… For the seller’s sake, let’s hope he isn’t working for the Bavarian carmaker. -Continued

2009 BMW 7-Series Interior Scooped?

What seems to be a picture of a pre-production dashboard of the next-generation BMW 7-Series, has been scooped by the folks over at Autobild magazine. Leaving the finish and material quality aside, the 2009 7-Series’ dash looks more elegant and despite the hefty use of wooden inserts, sportier than the one fond in the current generation model.

Too bad BMW stubbornly insists on equipping its vehicles with the controversial iDrive control system. The new BMW 7-Series is expected to be introduced at this year's Paris Auto Show in September with sales following shortly after.

BMW’s Less Radical 2009 7-Series

Even though Chris Bangle’s signature flame surfacing and butt-up design elements have found their way into more cars that you ever imagined possible, the current 7-Series was, and still is, considered as one ugly duckling that paid no homage at all to its sleek predecessors. That’s about to change with the next generation of BMW’s luxury sedan, which was caught here by Car Online’s spy photographers.

Despite the heavy camouflage, it is apparent that both versions of the new 7-Series (short and long-wheel-base) will bear a cleaner and sportier design language. Though BMW officials have declined to answer any questions concerning the product launch of the new 7-Series, rumors have it that the luxury sedan will break cover at next year’s Paris Motor Show in September.

BMW 90’s 740i Replicates New 7-Series!

The things you can find on auction sites... Take this 1993 BMW 740i (E32) that’s for sale on a German site for example. The seller has attempted to create a replica -or rather a caricature, of the latest BMW 7-Series (codenamed E55). At least up front that is because if you follow the jump and check out the rest of the images, you’ll probably agree with us that the previous-generation Lexus IS must have played an important role in the styling (…) process. -Continued after the jump

2009 BMW 7-Series Scooped By Reader

There seems to be some sort of bonding between rezza foournito readers and the BMW 7-Series as for the second time in a month, one of our readers managed to snap a prototype version forthcoming bimmer. Csarno, who sent us this image, said that his friends spotted the camouflaged BMW 7-Series during a recent trip in Europe. Even though the spy shot doesn’t reveal much of the new 7er it is apparent from the rear-quarter design that BMW will seriously tone down the styling of the car compared to the current model. According to rezza foournito sources, the new Seven will go on sale in Europe in late 2008 with the U.S. following in early 2009.

Asylum Seekers Catch A Ride In Tony Blair’s New BMW!

Talk about being a unlucky; four asylum seekers were arrested in London after entering the UK by hiding in the back of a lorry carrying former UK prime minister Tony Blair's new bullet-proof BMW 7-Series. The bimmer, that was ordered by the Metropolitan Police’s Counter-Terrorism Command was transferred from Munich, Germany. Upon its arrival in the UK, the four men leapt from the back of the car transporter during a routine check in a secure police compound in south London. -Continued after the jump

According to The Sunday Mail, one source was quoted saying, "We are not sure who was most surprised. They certainly did not appreciate that they had arrived in a police yard!" You can say that again… Unfortunately, Tony Blair will have to wait a while before he gets his bungle-proof 7-Series as UK police returned the car to BMW, saying its security had been compromised.

2009 BMW 7-Series Scooped By rezza foournito Reader

Pro spy photographers; eat your heart out! Bastien, an eagle-eyed reader of rezza foournito left his bathing suite to rest in piece during his summer vacations in Spain this September preferring to get some "scoop action" in the rugged region of Andalusia. And action he got as Bastien managed to capture (among other cars), the forthcoming BMW 7-Series.

Despite the fact the 7er was undergoing tests in heavy disguise, it is apparent that BMW’s new top sedan will dump the current model’s extravagant or as non-designers call it, gargoyle looks, for a more elegant and dare we say, sporty design. From what we learned, the all-new 7-series will be released sometime during the 2008 calendar year, arriving in the market as a 2009 model. -One more pic after the jump

We thank Bastien and Wesley for sharing the spy pictures!

Video: BMW 740i Burning Out Turns Upside Down!

Hi dad, um, you know I kinda lost balance and sort of trashed the bimmer while I was attempting to make a sideway burnout in front of my friends, but don’t worry, Dumbo and I are fine, quite embarrassed, but other than that, totally ok... -Click “Read More…” below to check out a second video of the accident shot from a different angle

Chicago Auto Show: 500Hp BMW ALPINA B7 makes US debut

Supercharged 4.4 V8 with 500Hp & 516 lbs of torque, 0-60mph in 4,8 sec and 187mph top speed. Still not impressed? Mmmm –sorry, I mean, Bbbbbb… how about the 115.000 US price tag and the fact that only about 200 pieces are coming to the States in 2007? Despite the drag queen look of the 7-Series, I’d seriously want to take this luxurious monster for a spin. Wouldn’t you? -Continued: Click “Read More…” below to see the press-release and a high-res image gallery

PS: Alpina had announced in February 2006 that the B7 would go on sale in the US towards the end of the year, something that never happened for reasons unknown to us. Hence the dates on the press release that follows

PRESS RELEASE: BMW ALPINA B7: BMW and ALPINA, Germany's Renowned Performance Specialists, Create a New High Performance 7 Series Model

The 2006 BMW ALPINA B7 brings together the luxury, pioneering design, and advanced technology of the 7 Series Sedan with the scintillating performance of a supercharged, 500hp V-8 engine.

To power the BMW ALPINA B7, ALPINA specially developed a higher-performance version of BMWís 4.4-liter, 90-degree V-8 engine and mated it to a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel mounted shift controls. The motor produces 500 horsepower at 5,500 rpm along with maximum torque of 516 lbs.-ft. at 4,250 rpm, and propels the B7 from 0-60 mph in a mere 4.8 seconds. ALPINA 21-inch wheels carry Z-rated performance tires, while the sport-tuned suspension includes Active Roll Stabilization. The B7 aerokit includes a rear spoiler to improve stability, handling, and performance at high speeds.

ALPINA was established in 1964 as an official and approved ìennoblerî of BMW automobiles. Their tradition is to take production BMWs and make them even more appealing to connoisseurs of automotive finery.

With this new model, BMW will raise the benchmark for the segment in terms of performance, refinement, technology, and luxury. Approximately 200 US-version cars are planned for the 2006 model year, with a release date in July 2006.
