Using parts from its in-house Subaru Genuine Accessory and SPT (Subaru Performance Tuning) catalogs, Subaru created a custom version of its recently updated 2009 Impreza WRX 5-door. Since the latest iteration of the WRX already comes with a standard factory Aero Body Kit, the Japanese automaker limited the external modifications to a front lip spoiler by STI, fog light protectors and a broken-pixel paint finish.

The more-road-hugging stance of the SEMA show car is achieved by the addition of STI performance springs and Botticelli III 19-inch wheels by OZ Racing. A lower chassis brace and strut tower brace from the SPT catalog complete the chassis mods.
The 2009 WRX's 2.5-liter intercooled turbo Boxer engine that develops in standard form 265HP with 244 lb.-ft. of torque has been enhanced with a SPT cat-back exhaust that gives a slight bump to 275 hp and 250 lb.-ft of torque. Finally, Subaru also added an STI short-throw shifter while the under-hood area gets a visual boost with an SPT oil cap, turbo heat shield and battery hold-down.
