Following in the footsteps of the near-identical Citroen C1, Peugeot announced that it too is refreshing its 107 city car for 2009 with a new face, a slightly revised petrol engine and an upgraded interior. Changes to the 107's exterior include a restyled front bumper with braces chrome detailing and a new wheel trim design. The interior of the French city car has been upgraded and includes new upholstery materials which complement new exterior colors in the range.

The 2009 model also benefits from a cleaner and more fuel efficient version of the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which Peugeot supports, returns a combined-cycle fuel consumption figure of 62.8mpg UK (4.5 lt/100 km 52.3mpg US), an improvement of 2% over the previous model. The petrol engine's CO2 emissions are also reduced to 106g/km from 109g/km.
The new 107 will be in Peugeot showrooms in most European counties by January 2009 with full specification details and pricing to be issued in due course.
