Mugen Attempts to Make the Honda Fit Shuttle Look Cool and Sporty

When the people over at Honda’s tuning partner Mugen aren’t working on more interesting and unique projects like the Civic Type R and even the CR-Z, they are usually kept busy with the brand’s more mundane vehicles such as the newly introduced Fit Shuttle.

Mugen Kits the new Honda Life minicar

Mugen Honda LifeNot even the newly launched Life mini has escaped from the claws of Honda's unofficial motorsports and tuning arm, Mugen. The Japanese company has released a host of tuning accessories that promise to give a little more... life to Honda's new 'kei-car'. These include a subtle bodykit, various alloy wheel designs available in sizes 14'' or 15'', a sport exhaust system and an electronic tire-pressure gauge so you can always keep your tires in tip-top shape. Sorry to say, speed freaks will have to do with the standard 0,7-liter engine that's available in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms as Mugen did not released any performance upgrades.

Mugen Honda Civic Type-RR Concept With 260HP 2.2L i-VTEC

This undeniably impressively supped up Civic Type-RR is the work of Mugen and it made its debut at the recent Tokyo Auto Salon. Apart from the overly aggressive bodykit that includes an aluminium bonnet, a carbon-fibre front end and a large rear-wing spoiler, the Mugen Civic Type-RR Experimental Spec boasts a series of mechanical upgrades, the most important being the K20A engine that has been bored out to 2.2-litres. The result is an output of 260 HP and a maximum torque figure of 235 Nm or 173 lbs/ft.

As one would expect, Mugen also upgraded the Type-RR’s wheels, brakes and suspension. Inside, the Japanese tuner stripped the Civic’s cabin and added a heap load of carbon-fibre parts along with a new set of bucket seats. –More pics after the jump
